JERSEY CITY -- The Brooklyn Nets (44-32) bounced back from Thursday night's heartbreaking loss to the Chicago Bulls with a win at home over the visiting Charlotte Bobcats (18-59) at Barclays Center. The win pushed the Nets 1.5 games ahead of the Chicago Bulls for the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.
Deron Williams led the way with 32 points and six assists on 11 of 18 shooting. This was his second straight game with 30-plus points. Reggie Evans had another monster night on the boards, with 20 rebounds to go with his 14 points. Brook Lopez added 19 points. In Joe Johnson's second game back from injury, he shot 5 of 16 for 15 points.
The Bobcats were led by Ben Gordon's 27 points off the bench. Gerald Henderson added 22 points, five assists, and three rebounds. Bismack Biyombo anchored the defense with a game high 5 blocked shots to go along with his 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Of note, Reggie Evans lost a tooth during the third quarter, but continued his ferocious attack around the rim. He is the Nets' best rebounder and does all the dirty work down low, proving to be one of their most valuable big men. Deron Williams moved into second on the Nets record for 3 pointers made in a season with 157. Kerry Kittles owns the record with 158 for the 1996-1997 season. (RS)
