Heat crush Magic, extend streak to 27

JERSEY CITY -- The Miami Heat (56-14) extended their NBA high win-streak to 27 games tonight against their in-state rivals, the Orlando Magic (18-53) at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
The Magic started the game motivated and inspired and ready to give the Heat their best game. The first quarter ended with both teams tied at 28 points each. Miami was much more aggressive in the second quarter and outscored Orlando 27-18 in the period, taking a nine point lead into halftime.
But a crippling 10-0 run to end the third quarter sealed the Magic's fate, losing 108-94.
Lebron James led Miami with a near triple-double, posting 24 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds while Orlando's Jameer Nelson led all scorers with 27 points and 12 assists. Long Island native Tobias Harris chipped in 20 points for the Magic.
Heat coach Tito Erik Spoelstra led the Heat to his 250th career victory in the NBA. Next up for Miami is a visit to the United Center to face the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night. The Magic will begin their roadtrip on Wednesday visiting the Charlotte Bobcats. The Heat continue to chase history and are now within 6 games of matching the 1971-1972 Los Angeles Lakers for the longest win streak in NBA history at 33 straight games. (RS)
