CORAL HAS DRAGON FIRE By Brett Bonetti PhilBoxing.com Mon, 18 Mar 2013 ![]() Following the successful return of Boxing to Perth Metro City on Friday night, a big hit with the fans was Sahlan Coral (8-2, 3 KO?s) from Indonesia. The Dragon Fire fight of the night at Thunderdome was the 6 round international bout between Sahlan Coral and Scotland's Mike Reid (5-7-1). Coral and Reid came out and continually hit each other with power shots for the first 3 rounds of their bout, before Coral's greater power began to take over. Coral hurt Reid in round 4 and scored a knockdown. Reid barely survived the round and then showed plenty of heart for the remainder of the bout to make it to the judges scorecards where Coral was declared the winner via unanimous points decision. Scores were 60-53, 59-54, 60-53 all for Coral. Coral was grateful to Dragon Fire and Pain Away for giving him the chance to fight at Thunderdome. While sanction bodies have shunned Indonesian boxing and banned them from certain territories, Dragon Fire Promotions with the support of Pain Away have taken the opposite form of action, educating and assisting the Indonesian boxing fraternity to better themselves. In scholarship type program initiative, Dragon Fire with Pain Away support, have begun an educational program for Indonesian boxers and trainers. The inaugural group has consisted of Sahlan Coral, his trainers Yancee Mandagie & former Indonesian Boxing super star ?Furious? Joey De Ricardo have been mentored under the watch eyes of world renowned trainers Craig Christian & Angelo Hyder. They have been training at Harrys Gym in Balcatta in Perth Western Australia. Dragon Fire?s next promotion will be April 14 at the Senyan Indoor Tennis Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia. Dragon Fire: World Championship Boxing will be headlined with a Twin World Title Bill. IBO World Featherweight Champion Daud ?Cino? Yordan (30-2, 23 KO?s) of Indonesia takes on ?V12? Simpiwe Vetyeka (24-2, 14 KO?s) WBA Champion of the Decade Chris ?The Dragon? John (48-0-2, 22 KO?s) defends his WBA Super World Featherweight Championship for an incredible 18th time against Satoshi ?Bazooka? Hosono 23-2, 17 KO?s). Sahlan Coral will be part of Team Indonesian line-up that will be challenging Team Tanzania as a 4 fight undercard. Further Indonesian Boxers will be getting similar opportunities with these series of events. This is a Dragon Fire initiative in a means of provides Indonesian boxing with greater opportunities with the Dragon Fire World Series. Future Dragon Fire World Series will involve Indonesia challenging Australia, USA & The UK.
