"THE SCORPION" DENNIS TUBIERON DEFENDS WBC INT'L BELT AGAINST INDONESIAN CHAMP MARCH 16 IN PARA?AQUE

PhilBoxing.com

World-rated Dennis "The Scorpion" Tubieron risks his WBC International Bantamweight title against dangerous 22-year-old Indonesian KTPI/IBPC champion James Mokoginta on Saturday March 16 at PAGCOR Grand Theater on Ninoy Aquino Avenue in Para?aque, Manila, Philippines.

The Tubieron-Mokoginta 12-round rumble is the main event of the exciting fight card presented by promoter Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde in association with Roland C. Delantar of RCD Land Inc.

In his last outing the 23-year-old Tubieron scored an impressive round 8 technical knock out over tough hard-hitting Japanese Hiroki Shiino (9-2, 8KO's).

Dennis "The Scorpion" Tubieron (14-1-1, 5KO's) is currently rated as bantamweight WBC #12 and IBF #14.

The Scorpion's goal is fighting for the WBC or the IBF bantamweight world title.

The WBC world champion is undefeated world champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (17-0, 12KO's) of Japan, due to defend title against cebuano former champion Malcolm Tu?acao (32-2-3, 20KO's) on April 8 in Tokyo, Japan.

The IBF Bantamweight World title is currently vacant, but is likely to be disputed between IBF # 3 Julio "Pollito" Ceja and IBF #1 Englishman Jamie McDonnell.

If Dennis "The Scorpion" Tubieron - born in the paradisaical Puerto Princesa in Palawan - wins big against the fearless Indonesian James Mokoginta on March 16, his goal of one day battling for a bantamweight world title would continue on the right track. A setback would be horrible.

Meanwhile, Tubieron's opponent, James Mokoginta (24-9-2, 12KO's), is Indonesia's Professional Boxing Commission (KTPI/IBPC) champion, a title he won last April in Jakarta and defended it successfully in June.

He has a loss in Japan and his last victory was in October. A triumph of Mokoginta over the Filipino "Scorpion" would be FANTASTIC for the Indonesian.

Will the Filipino "Scorpion" score THE WIN that will keep him on course to face a bantamweight world champion... or will the artillery of the seasoned 35-fight veteran Indonesian champion dominate the battlefield?

Boxing fans WILL FIND OUT on Saturday March 16 at PAGCOR Grand Theater, PIRC Building (former Duty Free) on Ninoy Aquino Avenue in Para?aque, Manila

EXCITING CO-MAIN EVENT: SYLVESTER LOPEZ FIGHTS FOR WBC INTERIM ASIAN TITLE

In the exciting co-main event, Filipino Sylvester "Stallone" Lopez (19-4-2, 15KO's) will battle ABCO #2 ranked fighter Petchnamnung Sithsaithong (11-3, 8KO's) of Thailand for the vacant WBC interim Asian Boxing Council Super Bantamweight (122 lbs) crown.

Last year, Sylvester Lopez, 25, challenged reigning Japanese WBC super flyweight world champion Yota Sato (26-2-1, 12KO's), losing a unanimous decision in Yokohama, Japan.

Since then, Lopez has moved-up two weight classes from 115 lbs super flyweight to super bantamweight (122 lbs) , BEING his immediate goal to capture the WBC interim Asian belt so as to his improve his rating in the WBC super bantamweight rankings.

Sylvester Lopez is currently super bantamweight WBC # 22.

On the other corner of the squre ring will be Thai fighter Petchnamnung Sithsaithong, an experienced former muay thai warrior with big plans of his own.

Sithsaithong comes to his clash against Sylvester Lopez after a September win over unheralded Thai compatriot Yoyo Or Ounsuwan at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand's capital, Bangkok.

Question: Will Filipino Sylvester Lopez born, in Zamboanga Sibugay, now fighting as super bantamweight, have the same power, speed of hands and feet that he had as flyweight and super flyweight?

His fans surely hope so and the question will be answered on March 16 at the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Para?aque, Manila.

Eight more exciting bouts complete the fight card whose proceeds are for a good humanitarian cause.

According to the event promoter Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde, the fight card is done "in coordination with Barangay Santo Ni?o Council for the benefit of the street children of Barangay Santo Ni?o in Manila."

Elorde also informed that the two title fights of the card are 12-rounderes that have been approved by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the Philippines Games and Amusement Board (GAB).
