"KING OF THE RING 2" RESULTS: PETALCORIN-PATILANO DRAW, GOLEZ-ANDOGAN DRAW AT PAGCOR CASINO FILIPINO IN PARA?AQUE By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Sun, 17 Feb 2013 In the main event of "King of the Ring 2" card, world rated Randy Petalcorin (19-1-1, 14KO's) of Davao and tough Para?aque?o Rene Patilano (7-1-2, 3KO's) fought to a technical draw Saturday night at PAGCOR Airport Casino Filipino in Para?aque, Metro Manila. During the action of round eight, the Davae?o Petalcorin was badly cut on his left eye from a non-intentional clash of heads, prompting experienced international referee Silvester "Robocop" Abainza to correctly stop the fight and the decision went to the scorecards. Two of the judges had it 76-76. The third judge had it 77-75 for Rene Patalino (likely the most accurate scoring). With the draw, Randy Petalcorin retained his WBA Pan-Asian Boxing Association Jr. Flyweight champion and keeps his place in the world rankings. The 21-year-old Petalcorin is currently ranked as the WBA #4 and WBO # 8 Jr. Flyweight. A rematch would be fair. The co-main event, 26-year-old Filipino Ranel Suco (14-7-2, 6KO's) of Pagadian, Zamboanga del Sur captured the vacant interim WBC Asian featherweight title via a unanimous decision over unheralded Prell Tupas (8-19-4, 1KO) of Taguig, Manila. The three ringside judges scored 119-109 in favor of Ranel Suco who in his previous fight lost a hard-fought 12-round decision to fearsome WBC Muay World Champion Jomthong Chuwatana in Kunming, China. This time Suco was a rightful winner. In another bout stopped by accidental head butt, former world title challenger "The Phoenix" Roilo Golez (15-10-1, 6KO's) of Compostella Valley and Wilber Andogan (9-11, 3KO's) of Besao, Mountain Province ended their exciting combat in a third round technical draw, leaving interim WBC Asian minimumweight title vacant. The intense fire exchange was stopped by Nueva Ecija referee Virgilio Garcia in round three as Roilo Golez was profusely bleeding from his left eye. In a featherweight preliminary clash, undefeated Ricky Dulay (4-0, 3KO's) of Catarman, Northern Samar, scored a round 1 technical knock out over 30-year-old underdog Ereneo "Tata" Gal?ndez Jr., of San Fernando, Bukidnon. With powerful attacks, Ricky Dulay forced the brave Gal?ndez three times to the canvas, prompting Quezon City referee Benigno Pe?afiel to halt the battle and declare Dulay winner by technical knockout. Time was 1:47 of the first round. In the opening combat of "King of the Ring 2," 24-year-old cebuano lightweight Jheritz Chavez (2-0, 1KO) defeated debutant Erwin Bryan Aggari (0-1, 0 KOs) in a quick technical knock out win in round 1.
