By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Sensational Mexican boxer Juan Manuel M?rquez has been proclaimed the "World's Best Latino Fighter of Year" in a survey conducted by Notifight.com, the planet's leading boxing site in Spanish language.
In addition to his dramatic "Knockout of the Year" victory over Filipino Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas last month, the 39-year-old Juan Manuel M?rquez also scored a 12-round win over Ukrainian Serhiy Fedchenko (32-2, 14KO's) in April last year to capture yet another world title, becoming a 4-division world champion.
It was a fantastic 2012 for the "Dinamita" M?rquez who won the WBO Super Lightweight (140 lbs) world crown as well as the "Champion of the Decade" belt and ended the year with an extraordinary record of 55 victories, only four defeats, 1 draw, his thrilling victory over Pacquiao was the 40th knockout of his amazing 20-year career.
The second place in the election for the best latino fighter of the year went to WBC Middleweight world champion Sergio "Maravilla" Mart?nez (50-2-2, 28KO's) of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
"Maravilla" Mart?nez, 37, won his two world title fights of the year. In March he knocked out Briton Matthew Macklin in New York and in September he survived a last round knock down to dethroned Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
This coming April, Martinez will defend his 160-pounds (72.64 kg) world title against unbeaten 30-year-old Briton Martin Murray (25-0-1, 11KO's) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Voted in third place is unbeaten american-born Puerto Rican Danny Garc?a (25-0, 16KO's). In 2012 Danny Garc?a annihilated Mexican legend Eric "El Terrible" Morales, knocked out Briton Amir Khan to become unified WBA/WBC super Lightweight world champion.
