Bardon defends Philippine title versus Eraham in San Carlos City

PhilBoxing.com

August 8, 2006, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. Philippine flyweight Champion Jojo Bardon will climb up on the ring to defend his title against the hard hitting Abdul Eraham from the Saranggani Province this coming August 26, 2006 at the San Carlos City (Negros Occidental) Auditorium dubbed as “Engkwentro sa San Carlos Tres”.

Bardon, the champion who hails from San Carlos City will have the home court advantage, but cannot be too confident. Eraham who is considered to possess one of the heaviest punching power in the Flyweight division is determine to knock Bardon out in the early rounds to make a quick finish and grab the championship belt.

However, Bardon will not allow Eraham to get an easy fight. “I have been training for more than two months now and I intend to stay as Champion for a long time” says Bardon. With 14 wins and 8 KO’s experience, Bardon is a tough opponent against any Flyweight in the country right now, which was evident in his last fight against the more popular Rocky Fuentes (14 wins with 9 KO’s), according to trainer Anol Jaca. Bardon won against Fuentes in a grueling 12 Round Split decision last March 18 at the Mandaue City Sports Complex.

Supporting the Main Event is the super bantamweight fight between undefeated Van Bantillan of Iloilo City against the more experienced Romeo Buhawi of Cebu. Angelito Abella and Jimboy Casipli both from San Carlos will be up against the Rodel Calbug and Ian Arcalin respectively, all from Dumaguete City in the mini Fly Division. Bantamweight Ronnie Pe?onal of San Carlos will clash with Cebu’s Reggie Campos. Another Super Bantamweight Marron Ursal of San Carlos is expected to go a distance against Arnel Barricuatro of Ormoc City.

Heating period will feature Amateur bouts of Cebu boxers against San Carlos.

San Carlos City Boxing Club in cooperation with the City of San Carlos will host this Wakee Salud’s Promotion of “Engkwentro Tres.” “Engkwentro Tres will the third Boxing Promotion that the Club will host. No doubt, this is going to the best ….” says San Carlos Boxing Club Chair and City Vice-Mayor, Ginggo Valmayor.

The Club and the City, through Promoter Wakee Salud, have invited People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao, Former WBC and now WBF Super Flyweight Champion Gerry Pe?alosa and the possible World Champ Jimrex Jaca to grace the occasion.
