Pacquiao will KO Bradley By Robbie Pangilinan PhilBoxing.com Sat, 12 May 2012 Chief trainer Freddie Roach confidently predicted a knockout in the coming title bout between eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao and World Boxing Organization junior-welterweight champion Timothy Bradley. The Hall of Famer admitted that the undefeated Bradley is younger, aggressive and well-trained, but he is sure thatPacquiao will keep his 147-pound crown and believes Bradleywill not last six rounds. ?Manny?s experience and determination to win impressively unlike in his fight against Juan Manuel Marquez will carry him through,? Roach said in an overseas telephone interview from Los Angeles. Roach has received reports that Bradley is working out daily, even on weekends, and calls himself the best-conditioned fighter in the world. But Roach has also heard that Bradley weighs 165 pounds now with little or no body fat. ?Will he make the weight? If he does, will he be as strong as Manny, who I?m sure will be much, much lighter than he is come fight time?? Roach asked. Roach also noted that Bradley?s style is like Ricky Hatton?s, who Pacquiao knocked down in the second round of their fight. He said Bradley may have a stronger chin and is a tough fighter, but does not have much power, much footwork and, certainly, not as shifty as Pacquiao. The Filipino boxing icon is preparing well for Bradley, who is said to never quit and to always come to his opponent head first. ?Manny is more motivated now to win impressively as in his lackluster performance against Marquez,? Roach said. ?He wants to erase the stigma of that performance and reclaim his reputation as the world?s pound-for-pound king and that would be a bad news for Bradley.? Roach promised an all-action fight on June 9 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Click here to view a list of other articles written by Robbie Pangilinan. |
