Trainer Jack Loew calls Hank Lundy overrated Predicts KO victory for 'Dangerous' Dannie Williams

March 30 ESPN FNF at MGM Grand at Foxwoods

ST. LOUIS (March 20, 2012) - Veteran trainer Jack Loew believes North American Boxing Federation ("NABF") "Hammerin'" Hank Lundy (21-1-1, 11 KOs) is vastly overrated and predicts his dynamic lightweight, "Dangerous" Dannie Williams (20-1, 16 KOs), will stop Lundy in the March 30th ESPN Friday Night Fights' 10-round main event at MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

"Lundy is a very good, slick fighter," the outspoken Loew said from Williams' training camp in Youngstown (OH). "But he's so overrated. I applaud his promoter and management team for picking good opponents for him to look good against. (John) Molina may be the only lightweight more overrated and he stopped Lundy. I don't care if he was ahead; Lundy lost that fight and was knocked out. I've been a fan of two-time world champ David Diaz but he was a shot fighter a year before he fought Lundy. Diaz was a good champion but he was never a big puncher, yet, he hurt Lundy, a slick fighter who can box but isn't a big puncher either.

"I think it's going to be a good fight for three, four rounds, until Lundy feels Dannie's power. Dannie's going to pressure him from the start. Lundy will fold and Dannie will take him out. I can't see it going past seven rounds and, if Dannie catches him, it could end in three. Dannie's going to come out firing and ready to fight 10 strong rounds, if needed. Once we get this fight behind us, we'll be off to bigger and better things."

Williams, No. 9 in the latest World Boxing Council ("WBC") ratings, is the mandatory challenger for NABF champ Lundy, who is rated No. 4 by WBC, as well as No. 7 by the World Boxing Organization ("WBO") and No. 12 by the International Boxing Federation ("IBF").

Rumble Time Promotions and DiBella Entertainment co-promote Williams, the 27-year-old from St. Louis who now lives in trains in Youngstown. "He'll have a lot more fans there from Youngstown than Lundy who lives (Philadelphia) a lot closer to Foxwoods," Loew added. "This camp has been much different than any others because Dannie is so focused. The winner of this fight goes up in a lightweight division that's already loaded. Camp has been a dream for a coach because I have a hungry kid who trains and runs hard every day."

Loew also feels that Williams' boxing ability is underrated and Lundy's constant trash-talking is for a reason. "You don't win as many amateur titles as Dannie without being able to box," he explained. "Punching is natural: you either can or can't. Dannie's an extremely big puncher with power in both hands. He can really hurt you. All I keep hearing about is how Lundy's going to take away Dannie's right. He'd better watch out for both hands.

"I've been there with Kelly (Pavlik), when he fought Edison Miranda and Jermain Taylor, and they acted like we weren't even there. Some boxers need to talk for their self-confidence. Dannie's been quiet other than to say he's going to take it to Lundy. Dannie's confident. Lundy has been shooting his mouth off, so, I guess that's what he needs to do for his self-confidence."
