DUGONG KAMPEON IN CALOOCAN READY TO EXPLODE THIS SATURDAY

PhilBoxing.com

Caloocan -- Dodie Boy Jr. will face Thai boxer Singmanasak who in person appeared lankier and taller than the Cebuano prospect. When asked about what he learned about the first round knock down versus Donriel Marcos last year, Dodie Boy Jr. humbly answered that he learned a lot from that experience and he is now a more cautious and careful boxer but without losing his excitement and explosiveness inside the ring.

Marvin Mabait who will challenge Philippine Superflyweight Champion Rey Perez expressed his confidence in snatching the belt away from him but added that Perez is a good fighter and that it will be a very exciting fight.

Mike Farenas will also fight a tune-up bout with Rober Rubillar. Farenas will fight undefeated Mikey Garcia on March 10 in Puerto Rico under the JuanMa Lopez-Orlando Salido rematch. When asked how he feels about his underdog status against the more famous Garcia, Farenas humbly told the Press that it is nice to be the underdog because an upset becomes more meaningful. ?Kuya Gerry negotiated this for me as my biggest career break. I will make the best out of it. Call me the underdog or anything, but I will face Garcia with a mission, and that is to be another step closer at a world title fight,? Farenas told Philboxing.

Boxing Legend and now trainer Dodie Boy Pe?alosa Sr. expressed his confidence in his two sons who will both fight on Saturday. ?Dodie Jr. has improved a lot. We will see how he carries these improvements inside the ring. Also, my son Dave has definitely changed into a better professional boxer. That I can guarantee you after guiding him during training. You guys will be surprised,? the elder Pe?alosa, stated.

Mayor Recom Echiverri was in high spirits as he entertained the press with his sense of humor. When asked about future fights in Caloocan, he replied that there will a lot of fights in the future but his opponents (political) will suffer the same fate and lose. On the more serious note, Mayor Echiverri officially announced that the City has adopted Dodie Boy Pe?alosa Jr. as the son of Caloocan City and the ceremonial giving of the City Key was held at the good Mayor?s office. The Pe?alosas expressed their happiness and gratefulness for the gesture of the Mayor in behalf of the City.

Dugong Kampeon will be held at the Recom Dome Caloocan City on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 6PM. ADMISSION IS FREE! The event will be covered and aired by media giant GMA7.
