War at Woodland Hills Season Opener Is This Friday At Warner Center Marriott PhilBoxing.com Tue, 17 Jan 2012 Several Local Prospects To Risk Undefeated Records In Showcase Bouts Woodland Hills, California (January 16, 2012) ? Art of Boxing and Bash Boxing?s professional boxing series, War At Woodland Hills, makes its 2012 debut this Friday January 20th with its usual mix of undefeated prospects, popular local fighters, and evenly matched bouts. A Who?s Who list of elite trainers including Freddie Roach, Robert Garcia, Shadeed Suluki, Justin Fortune, Eric Brown, and Ray Morales will bring some of their best prospects back to the San Fernando Valley?s most exciting and fun live sports event. Featured Undefeated Fighters On The January 20, 2012 Card: Donyil Livingston (7-0-1, 5KOs) Middleweight Donyil Livingston, a North Hollywood High School alumni, will face his most seasoned and dangerous opponent to date, Michael ?Midnight Stalker? Walker (19-11, 12Kos). Livingston, a former amateur standout with a 178-23 (83KOs) record and numerous national and international titles, is trained by Wildcard Boxing Club guru Eric Brown and promoted by Boxing360. Walker, from Chicago, Illinois, has faced a bevy of world class fighters including Ricardo Mayorga, Danny Jacobs, Andy Lee, Fernando Guerrero, and Antwun Echols. Alexander Filchkin (9-0, 2KO) Russian Welterweight Alexander Filichkin will make his U.S. Debut against former prospect and tough veteran, Hector ?The Mongoose? Alatorre. Filichkin, under the tutelage of world renowned trainer Shadeed Suluki, has been raising eyebrows around the Los Angeles boxing scene for his aggressive and exciting style. Suluki believes Filichkin will be his next crowd pleasing Eastern European boxer along the lines of fellow Suluki trainee, World Ranked and Undefeated Ukrainian Ismayl Sillakh. Alatorre, a winner of his first 14 professional bouts and a fighter that has fought some of the best prospects while only being knocked out once in his career (a 10th round stoppage against Victor Ortiz), is hoping to cap off a great boxing career with a victory against his Russian foe. Erik Ruiz (3-0, 2KOs) Erik Ruiz is no stranger to the Warner Center Marriott as he picked up his first two professional victories as part of the War at Woodland Hills boxing series. Trained by Robert Garcia and managed by Christopher Worstell, the 19 year-old Oxnard native last entertained the Woodland Hills faithful with a toe-to-toe, bloody 4 round battle with Troy Wohosky in September. Ruiz will now face his most experienced opponent to date, Jesus Adame. Zachary Wohlman (1-0) Few professional boxers are able to accomplish so much after one professional bout as former Golden Gloves Champion, Zachary ?Kid Yamaka? Wohlman. Wohlman, the San Fernando Valley native won his pro debut in style on Fox Sports last month with hundreds of loud and adoring fans at Club Nokia chanting ?YA-MA-KA? in reference to Wohlman?s Jewish faith and nickname coined by trainers Freddie Roach and Eric Brown. Wohlman is also receiving critical acclaim as a fashion model for Freshjive Clothing. Wohlman hopes to build off his first professional win with a victory against former sparring partner, Pasadena?s Tatsuro Irie . Adrienne Alegria (1-0) Chino?s Adrienne Alegria may be cute and petite, but if her professional debut last March at War at Woodland Hills 4 is any indication, you don?t want to meet Adrienne when she has a pair of boxing gloves on. Alegria, a prot?g? of the highly respected Ray Morales out of Chino Boxing, will be facing a very tough challenge in her second pro bout as she takes on Becky Garcia (5-1, 3KOs). Garcia, a former prospect out of Phoenix who took nearly 4 years off from the professional ring, is now living in Los Angeles and training at the famed Wildcard Boxing Club. Garcia looks to make her return to the ring a successful one with a victory of the undefeated Alegria. Celine Roman (1-0) vs. Claudio Amaro (1-0) The fight that may be the toughest one to predict is the 4 round match-up between two promising female featherweights who both made successful professional debuts. Roman, has the experience of handing an undefeated female her first loss when she beat previously undefeated Yolanda Ezell during the last installment of War at Woodland Hills. Amaro holds the distinction of being the first professional female boxer from Sanger, California. But don?t let her small town background fool you. Amaro drove down to Southern California last May and captured her first professional victory with a majority decision over Laura Deanovic and is looking to add another win to her record against the highly regarded Roman. War at Woodland Hills 6 is scheduled to feature these undefeated prospects on its undercard as well as two evenly matched 8 round battles: Light heavyweights Anatoliy Dudchenko (13-2) and Alex Armenta (8-2) clash in a career defining bout for both men. Also, Pitbull Boxing?s Cleotis ?Mookie? Pendarvis (13-3-2) will take on War at Woodland Hills veteran and the always tough-as-nails puncher, Jose Alfredo Lugo. Tickets to THE WAR AT WOODLAND HILLS VI can be purchased online by going to www.bashboxing.com or by calling (626) 388-8888. THE WAR AT WOODLAND HILLS VI takes place on Friday, January 20, 2012 in the Grand Ballroom of the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills. Doors Open at 7:00 pm, First Bout at 7:30 pm sharp. WAR AT WOODLAND HILLS VI is presented by Art Of Boxing Promotions in association with Bash Boxing, Pitbull Boxing, and Boxing360. All bouts are subject to change.. ![]() |
