MICHAEL FARENAS VS. MIKEY GARCIA ON SALIDO VS. LOPEZ UNDERCARD IN MARCH

GAB Philippines and WBF Featherweight Champion Michael Farenas will face undefeated Miguel Angel ?Mikey? Garcia for a possible IBF World Title Eliminator in the undercard of the rematch between Juan Manuel Lopez and Orlando Salido on March 10, 2012 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. The good news was confided by Farenas? adviser Gerry Pe?alosa yesterday.
?I know it?s a very difficult fight for Mike (Farenas). Garcia is undefeated, brave, tall and has so much power. He is a proven knockout artist. But nothing will happen if I treat Mike like a baby. He needs this fight. He is not getting any younger. Plus Mike has his own pack of power and ring intelligence. He has the chance and he should take this chance. If Mike wins, he can face the winner of Salido-Lopez or Billy Dib. We will be training real hard for this fight,? Pe?alosa stated.
For this fight, Farenas will be under the guidance of Gerry?s brother Jonathan Pe?alosa. Jonathan worked with Robert Garcia (Mikey?s brother) in training Nonito Donaire Jr. He has seen Mikey train and this familiarity will be of help to Farenas? training camp.
