DON GEORGE AND LIBRADO ANDRADE SET TO DO BATTLE IN AN IBF TITLE ELIMINATOR ON DECEMBER 17 IN COZUMEL, MEXICO

PhilBoxing.com

LOS ANGELES, December 14 - An unforgettable first year of high-quality monthly boxing action will come to a close at the Froilan Lopez Baseball Field in Cozumel, Mexico on Saturday, Dec. 17 as top contenders Donovan George and Librado Andrade square off with a shot a world title on the line in a 12 round IBF super middleweight title elimination fight on "Sabados de Corona" which will be televised by Televisa in Mexico and on AT&T U-verse? in the United States.

Also in action in a 10 round junior lightweight fight will be Mexico's Sergio Thompson against Panama's Julio Camano.

This hard-hitting doubleheader is presented by Golden Boy Promotions, in association with Periodico QueQui (Pepe Gomez) and sponsored by Corona, Quintana Roo Tourism, Cozumel Tourism and Dolphin Discovery. The Televisa broadcast will air on Canal 5 and begins at 10:30 p.m. CT. George vs. Andrade is presented in association with Warrior's Boxing and Promotions.

The fights will also be available in the United States as AT&T* is exclusively delivering the series across threes screens (TV, Online and Mobile) to AT&T U-verse members. The U-verse broadcasts will air live at 9:30p.m. ET /6:30 p.m. PT on AT&T U-verse TV Chl 3312, U-verse Online at www.att.net/boxeo and, for subscribers to U-verse Live TV mobile application, on qualifying mobile phones.**

A crushing puncher with an 86% knockout percentage, Don "Da Bomb" George (22-1-1, 19 KO's) has patiently waited to get in position for a title shot while being anything but patient in dispatching opponents. A popular figure in his native Chicago, George has followed up a solid amateur career with an even more impressive time in the pros. After finishing off 16-0 Cornelius White and 15-2-1 Maxell Taylor in his two most recent bouts, the 27-year-old USBA super middleweight champion is ready for prime time and knows that a win over Librado Andrade will put him in position to challenge for the IBF title.

Perennial contender Librado Andrade (30-4, 23 KO's) has not only fought the best in the super middleweight division over the years, but he's done it with a fan-friendly style that has garnered him a huge following. The owner of wins over Yusaf Mack, Robert Stieglitz, Eric Lucas and Otis Grant, the 33-year-old native of Jesus del Monte, Guanajuato, Mexico has also met up with Lucian Bute (twice) and Mikkel Kessler. He's determined that now is his time to finally put a world title belt around his waist and will get the opportunity to do so should he vanquish George on the 17th.

Chetmul, Mexico's Sergio Thompson (19-2, 17 KO's) is a knockout artist who can change the course of a fight with one swing of his fist. A six year professional, Thompson is a former WBC Mundo Hispano champion who is currently sporting a six-fight winning streak, with five of those wins coming by knockout, including a November 5 victory over Juan Carlos Espinoza that took less than a round. Looking to stop Thompson's winning streak will be 25-year-old Panamanian Julio "Dinamita" Camano (8-6-1, 3 KO's), a rugged competitor who has faced a host of top prospects, including Jose Emilio Perea, Antonio Fernandez, Nicholas Walters and Irvin Berry. Fireworks are sure to fly when these two hard-nosed competitors meet in the ring this Saturday.
