?I WILL KNOCK OUT 'BOOMBOOM' IN SIX ROUNDS? - MENDOZA
By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Tue, 06 Dec 2011

Cebu City ? Miguel Angel Mendoza of Mexico spoke with Cebu sportswriters in a press conference held Tuesday noon at the Maya Mexican Restaurant in Banilad. Mendoza (17W-0L-1D, 17 KO's) made clear his prediction for Saturday's IBF International featherweight title bout.
?I came to Cebu to fight, I will deliver a knockout.? Mendoza said, ?I have studied videos of 'Boom Boom' Bautista, He is a complete fighter and fast fighter. But I know how to look for openings.?
When pressed for the round, Mendoza answered: ?I will knock him out in six rounds.?
Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista (31W-2L, 23 KO's) will be defending the title he won by 7th round technical decision against another Mexican, Heriberto Ruiz last June.
Mendoza comes from the Knockout gym of Mexico. That gym has not yet produced any world champions but has local champions. His favorite fighter is Julio Cesar Chavez,Sr.
?I have fought many strong Mexican fighters. My stature, I fight short and maintain my distance, is my strength. I will go forward against Bautista and trade with him. It will be a hard fight but not the hardest of my career.? Mendoza elaborated.
His message to Bautista, ?I hope you will not run away.?
Mendoza considers his ?heart? as his strongest asset as a fighter. His record in boxrec shows that he has not gone beyond the fifth round. He also said that he thinks Juan Manuel Marquez beat Manny Pacquiao last November but he feels that there should have been a knockout for the fight to have a clear ending.
Mendoza together with countryman Marcos Cardenas, will have a public workout in SM Cebu this Wednesday afternoon. Cardenas will fight Bautista's stablemate, Genesis Servania, on the undercard of Pinoy Pride X at the Hoops Dome in Lapu Lapu City.
