Rufino 135, Sanabria 133.5 for tomorrow's WBC Silver Lightweight title
By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Sat, 03 Dec 2011

CIUDAD DE MEXICO - Filipino fighter Vinvin Rufino weighed-in the limit of the lightweight division 135 lbs., while his Mexican opponent rising star Alejandro Sanabria tipped the scale at 133.5 ahead of their combat for the vacant WBC Silver lightweight title at Centro Banamex tomorrow here in Ciudad de Mexico.
Both fighters looked in good shaped and in high spirits ahead of their important rubber match to be televised by Televisa in Mexico and ESPN Deportes in North America.
"Hundred thirty five pounds is a good weight for me. I feel strong and ready to fight. I came to Mexico for this title (WBC silver lightweight belt)," commented Rufino to PhilBoxing.
The veteran 30-year-old Pinoy southpaw Vinvin Rufino (30-14-3, 14KO's), who is smaller and older than his Mexican opponent Alejandro Sanabria, will be assisted during the dangerous battle by trainer Federito Laurente, a native of Palompon, Leyte.
Both Vinvin Rufino and his trainer Federito Laurente belong to the fighting stable of well-known Pinoy promoter Johnny Elorde, one of the sons of legendary world champion Gabriel "Flash" Elorde.
Meanwhile, Alejandro "Flacucho" Sanabria (29-1-1, 22KO's) of Ciudad de Mexico has been WBC Fecarbox, Continental Americas and NABF super featherweight champion, and is one of the rising stars in the lightweight division in today's Mexican boxing.
The Sanabria-Rufino WBC fight is promoted and organized by the handlers of Sanabria, Promociones del Pueblo, a Mexican boxing company based in northern city of Ciudad Juarez.
PhilBoxing will report all details of this combat from ringside in Ciudad de Mexico.
