CEBU CITY OLYMPICS BOXING CHAMPIONS TO COMPETE IN BATANG PINOY (VISAYAS LEG)

Boxing champions of the recent Cebu City Olympics will lead the way for the team on November 10-13 in Dumaguete City Batang Pinoy qualifiers. Light pinweight Junrel Jimenez (2011 Palarong Pambansa gold medalist), paperweight Hipolito Banal (younger brother of pro champion AJ Banal), light paperweight Jegmark Longakit, mosquiotoweight Jold Ian Dopalco, minimumweight Junelle Olivares and antweight John Lloyd Trasporte are getting ready to roll, alongside boxing coaches Jordan Dopalco of CCSC and Rie Munez of ALA boxing gym.
The mentors are optimistic of their chances since heavy training for the competition was well and good, however they expect a very tight race to the top as powerhouse boxing teams in the Visayas area are also expected to join. (Felman Gingoyon)
