LOS ANGELES AREA FIGHTERS ARE SET FOR TOMORROW NIGHT'S HALLOWEEN SPECIAL EDITION OF "FRIGHT NIGHT CLUB" PhilBoxing.com Thu, 27 Oct 2011 LOS ANGELES, October 26 - Halloween will be celebrated early this year when Los Angeles' top boxing prospects do battle at "Fright Night Club," tomorrow night at L.A. LIVE's Club Nokia. Fans will be treated to a five-fight event that features the area's top undefeated talent along with tomorrow's rising stars making professional debuts during an evening of professional boxing presented by Golden Boy Promotions and AEG. In the six-round middleweight main event, Oxnard's Alfonso Blanco (6-0, 2 KO's), a 2008 Venezuelan Olympian, meets up with Fontana's Leshon Sims (5-9, 3 KO's). In the co-main event, Los Angeles' Ernesto Ocon (4-0, 2 KO's) takes on Santa Ana's Ricardo Malfavon (1-5-1, 1 KO) in a six round junior middleweight brawl. In the opening bout of the evening, two boxers entering the professional ring for the first time will be in the spotlight when Montebello's Santiago Guevara battles Garden Grove's Naphi Mohammad in a four round junior lightweight fight. Also making the leap into the world of professional boxing will be two LA products, as junior lightweight Xavier Montelongo Jr. of East Los Angeles faces fellow debutant Jose Garcia of Santa Ana, and Maywood's welterweight Luis Mora makes his debut against Exetan's Stephen Rubalcava (0-6). Both fights are scheduled for four rounds. "Fright Night Club" is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and AEG and sponsored by DeWalt Tools, Budweiser, MetroPCS and Super A Foods. The fights will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net (FSN) and its regional sports network affiliates (check local listings) and streamed live online at www.RingTV.com at 8:00 p.m. PT/11:00 p.m. ET. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. PT and the first bell rings at 8:00 p.m. PT. The event will be hosted by HOT 92.3's Jimmy Reyes. Now in its third season, "Fight Night Club" is Golden Boy Promotions' and AEG's critically acclaimed live monthly boxing series, that presents boxing in a night club atmosphere, with a DJ, music, great food and a VIP room, as well as a unique setup where the ring is on Club Nokia's stage with standing room for fans in front of the ring, as well as reserved seating in the balcony. After the boxing action ends, fans are invited to stay to hear great music played by LA's hottest DJ's, dance and mingle with the fighters as the venue converts back into a night club.
