Junrel Jimenez, Kevin Jake Cataraja, Ramil Casanares and Dominic Castanares bag gold medals in boxing at the 21st Cebu City Olympics

Third day of boxing competition at CCSC witnessed Junrel Jimenez beating Warren Gabumpa of PIt-os (unit-8) on points 3-0 in the secondary junior boys division (pinweight), to capture gold for ANS (unit-9) in the most anticipated bout of the competition. Kevin Jake Cataraja of Talamban (unit-8) defeated Raymund Namucatcat of ANS (unit-9) to sieze gold in the secondary youth boys division ( light flyweight), Jeffrey Quering of Barrio Luz (unit-6) and Jimboy Hilongo of ANS (unit-9) bag bronze. In the secondary school boys division (light mosquitoweight), Ramil Casanares of Pit-os (unit-9) outclassed John Lloyd Trasporte of Mabola (unit-8) to lift gold while Jold Ian Dopalco of ANS (unit-9) and Junille Olivares of UC capture bronze medals. Dominic Castanares of Bacayan (unit-8) won via the short route, beating Jeremy Entolye of Barrio Luz (unit-6) by RSC round 1 to capture gold, bronze went to Jun Gabriel Besinga of Banilad (unit-7) and McLee Gabutan, also of Banilad (unit-7).
Exhibition bouts were also competed with Fritz Levi Ramos of Bout-Taup WP Eran Boyose of Barrio Luz (28 kgs.), Dhomlee Bryl Flores of Barrio Luz W retirement round 1 Rogelio Quiokeles of Bout-Taup (32 kgs.), Jold Ian Dopalco of ANS RSC round 1 Jonathan Bacayan (38 kgs.), Jegmart Longakit of ANS WP Jerry Castel of CCSC (40 kgs.), Reoxyl Tabogon of ANS WP John Kenan Villaflor of SWU (52 kgs.) and Zorro Babel Alsola of SWU WP Ramjess Colina of ANS (60 kgs.)

Second day of competition, also at CCSC saw John Lloyd Trasporte WP Jold Ian Dopalco, Ramil Casanares WP Junille Olivares, Raymund Namucatcat WP Jeffrey Quering, Kevin Jake Cataraja WP Jimboy Hilongo and Nicole James Ramos of Bout-Taup WP Brix Piala of Guadalupe in an exhibition match.

First day of competition was held at the newly renovated Plaza Independencia grounds near the historic Fort San Pedro. Four Cebu City Olympics slug fests were contested with ten exhibition bouts featuring the best of amateur boxing in Cebu, spiced up the event. Dominic Castanares WP Jun Gabriel Besinga, Jeremy Entolye WP McLee Gabutan, Junille Olivares RSC round 2 Arnel Enriquez of Mabolo (unit-8) and Jimboy Hilongo WP JayJay Antipala of ANS (unit-9).

Cruz boxing club (45 kgs.), Junrel Jimenez of ANS RSC round 1 Enrico dela Rosa of Sta.
