SUGAR RAY LEONARD TO ATTEND WBC CONVENTION IN LAS VEGAS

The World Boxing Council has received what it regards as "fantastic news."
Its that Sugar Ray Leonard had accepted an invitation to attend the WBC's 49th Convention which will be held from December 11th to 17th in Las Vegas, Nevada, the boxing capital of the world.
The WBC statement said "Leonard is an immortal of boxing, one of the best fighters there has ever been.His attending our meeting will enhance our Convention without a doubt and will be of course an extra attraction for the attendees as well as for the fans that always gather around these events."
Ray Charles Leonard ?Sugar? is an idol of huge dimensions in the U.S.A and also in the rest of the world. He had a career record of 36 wins, 25 of them by knockout, one draw and three losses.
Sugar Ray Leonard reigned in five different divisions and y shone in all of them. The WBC said he was a great world champion in the Welter, Superwelter, Middle, Supermiddle and Lightheavyweight divisions; and before becoming a professional he won the gold medal in the Olympic Games in Montreal, Canada.
The WBC announced that Leonard will be one of the at least sixty great figures of boxing who will join the convention in Las Vegas.
Leonard won the WBC welterweight title with a sensational 15th round TKO over another remarkable champion, Wilfred Benitez on November 30, 1979.
Sugar Ray is best remembered for his epic trilogy with Roberto Duran where Leonard won two of their three fights, his two battles with Tommy "The Hitman" Hearns and his ferocious clash with "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler.
