Demecillo Singwangcha vs Bantigue in Liloan Oct. 9

Cebu - Marco Demecillo Singwangcha will stake his unbeaten run against Louie Bantigue in an interim Philippine superflyweight title bout this Sunday in Liloan, Cebu. Demecillo Singwangcha (14W-0L-1D, 10 KO's) was supposed to fight for the regular title but RWS matchmaker Willy Flores said they received word of defending champion Rey Perez? injury.
Demecillo is on a hot streak, scoring KO wins in four of his five fights this year. Rex ?Wakee? Salud is also trying to set up a Las Vegas fight for Marco next month. He bears the surname of his Thai sponsor and co-promoter of this bout, Naris Singwangcha.
Standing in his way is the tough Louie Bantigue (21W-12L07D, 12 KO's) who fought for the WBO Oriental title but lost to Jeffrey Cerna by split decision in a televised battle. Prior to the loss he stopped four straight opponents including two Japanese foes ? Ippei Aoki and Ryuji Ikehara.
Also set to see action is another blue chip prospect, Marlon Tapales (18W-1L, 6 KO?s) of Lanao del Norte, who will face Martin "Mobile Martin" Mubiru (8W-2L, 5 KO's) of Uganda in a ten round non-title bout.
There will be seven more undercard bouts. Laban ng Lahi: The Young Prospects will be telecast on a delayed basis on GMA TV. Tickets are affordable with 50 pesos for general admission for the boxing fans who want to watch in Liloan?s Panphil B. Frasco Memorial Sports Complex. Fights will start early at 5 PM.
