DUGONG KAMPEON PROMISES NON-STOP ACTION By Chito Yu Katangkatang PhilBoxing.com Fri, 30 Sep 2011 Everything has been set for Dugong Kampeon at Hoops Dome Lapu-Lapu City today at 6PM. The event will feature Dodie Boy Pe?alosa Jr. facing off with Donriel Marcos. Pe?alosa eyes for his seventh win and possibly another one via knockout just like the rest of his victories. Dodie Jr. admits he has a lot to learn on the ring but vows that he will perform his best in order to be worthy of being included in the Pacquaio-Marquez undercard. ?Donriel is a tough opponent but I worked so hard during training. I am confident that I will give my Cebuano fans another exciting performance on fight night. Being a Pe?alosa carries with it a lot of responsibilities and the heaviest of which is to live to the fans? expectations. But it is a challenge that I am taking.? Dodie Jr. told this scribe. Michael Farenas vs. Edgar Gabejan In the co-featured bout, Michael Farenas will attempt to grab the Philippine GAB Featherweight Belt from Edgar Gabejan of the Jaro Boxing Stable. Farenas is confident that he can deliver a good win and add another belt to his resume. However, brave Wara-waray Edgar Gabejan told this writer that he is not giving away his belt for free. ?Michael has a lot of work to do to get my belt. I am not letting go of my title that easy. I did not come here to lose. I am just as well prepared as he is.? Gabejan stated. Eden Sonsona vs. Godwin Tubigon Eden Sonsona will be making his second come-back fight against tough opponent Godwin Tubigon. Tubigon has never been stopped in a fight. ?I need to do better this time. Ring rust cannot be an excuse since this is my second fight since my lay-off. I am aiming for a regional title after this. Thus, I need to be impressive.? Sonsona told Philboxing. Dave Pe?alosa vs. John Edu Torbiso Another Pe?alosa will be welcomed to the world of professional boxing as former amateur top-gun Dave Pe?alosa makes his professional debut against John Edu Torbiso. According to Dodie Boy Pe?alosa Sr., Dave has been insisting on turning pro years ago but he wanted him to focus on his studies first and intended to focus on building up Dodie Jr?s career first. ?I wanted Dave to turn pro once he finishes his studies first and allow him to turn professional thereafter. But he has been persistent and determined. It was my brother Gerry who gave the nod and decided to finally give the kid his wish. Dave has a lot of talent. But he needs to prove his readiness by winning this fight convincingly.? Other matches in the fight card will feature Virgilio Silvano (109) vs Lionel Legada (108.5 lbs) ? 8 rounds, Anthony Sabalde (119 lbs) vs Jimmy Paypa (119 lbs) - 8 rounds, Sonny Katiangdagho (131 lbs) vs Rodel Wenceslao (128.5 lbs) - 6 rounds, Jhaleel Payao (112.5 lbs) vs Jaime Bermiso (111 lbs) - 4 rounds, Raymund Empic (115 lbs) vs Sherwin Caday (113 lbs) - 4 rounds and Jerome Casas (116 lbs) vs Romel Acruz (115 lbs) - 4 rounds.
