Cebu City - Marvin Sonsona, together with Rey Labao, Johnriel Casimero and Jason Canoy are preparing for the upcoming October 15 fight card at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-lapu City.
Sonsona, who now weighs 130 lbs, will return to the ring after an almost twenty month absence against Mexico?s Carlos Jacobo. They will fight at an agreed weight of 123 lbs.
The former WBO superflyweight champion will try to shake off his ring rust in this make or break fight. He went through a workout routine of shadow boxing, hitting the punch mitts and the heavy bag at the Omega Boxing and Workout Gym in Mabolo, Cebu City Monday afternoon.
Labao (photo above), a former WBO Asia-Pacific champion, is penned to fight Thai Payak Patanakan Gym.
The Omega gym had a visitor last weekend, WBO Lt.flyweight champion Ramon Garcia Hirales of Mexico, who will defend his title against Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes in Bacolod City this October 8.
