FILIPINO pool partners Efren "Bata" Reyes and Francisco "Django" Bustamante outhustled their Indian opponents during their Thursday encounter in the 6th Party Poker.net World Cup of Pool at the The Block Atrium of SM North EDSA in Quezon City,

Reyes and Bustamante, who make up Philippine Team B, scored 8-5 against Indian duo Raj ?the Hitman? Hundal and Amar ?AK47? Kang to enter the quarterfinals.

The Filipino tandem, top player of Puyat Sports, both established legends in the sport, felt the pressure to win especially while playing for the home crowd.

"Hopefully it doesn't matter who we play next but me and Efren have lots of pressure every time we miss a ball or make a mistake," said Bustamante, who won the WPA World 9-ball title during the World Pool Championships in Doha, Qatar last year who bested Taiwanese Kuo Po-cheng, 13-7, in the finals.

"We got lucky again," said Reyes, a former WPA 9-ball and 8-ball champion.

Their next assignment will be either Germany or Malaysia, who are still battling it out for a quarterfinals slot.
