QUEZON CITY---ALL eyes are focused on defending champion Dennis "Robocop" Orcollo, the last Filipino standing when he face Fu Jian Bo of China, one of the two semi-final featured match on Monday in the on-going 19th year Party Poker.net World Pool Masters being held here at the Block Atrium of SM North Edsa Mall.
The pride of Bugsy Promotions was the first player to enter the semi-finals after subduing Chang Jung-lin of Chinese-Taipei, 8-1, in the quarter-finals on Sunday. Fu, on the other hand ousted Jason Klatt of Canada, 8-5.
Ralf Souquet of Germany and Darren Appleton of England toppled their respective rivals to complete the final four. Souquet edged Lee Vann "The Slayer" Corteza of the Philippines, 8-6, while Appleton beat Raj Hundal of India, 8-4.The Matchroom Sport offers $66,000 prize-fund with $20,000 going to the champion.
Other Filipino cue masters seeing in action in this three-day affair but failed to made it to the finals were hall of famer Efren "Bata" Reyes and Francisco "Django" Bustamante.
