FARENAS VOWS TO WIN SENSATIONALLY AGAINST BELTRAN
By Chito Yu Katangkatang PhilBoxing.com Thu, 14 Jul 2011

Fernando Beltran Jr. is not a journeyman. He has never been knocked out and has only lost to proven veterans and champions like Joan Guzman and Steve Molitor who only managed to decision him. He is the former IBO Featherweight Champion after beating Takalani Ndlovu and former IBF Latino Featherweight Champion after grabbing the belt from Miguel Roman. He holds a record of (W35 (KO19) L 5 D1) and with a 45.6% knock out percentage. Thus, knocking him out before a huge crowd in Hawaii would be an explosive statement coming from Michael Farenas. And doing his best to knock Beltran out was Farenas? promise to his countrymen.
Michael Farenas has been training at the Wild Card Gymn in LA since his latest domination of Daniel Attah last May 21, 2011 in Cabazon, California. His mentor two-division world champion Gerry Pe?alosa provided him with nothing but the best training. He has been working hard in his training card and has always stayed focus on his upcoming fights.
?Michael is a very disciplined fighter and has always worked hard. I have no doubt that he will become a world champion very soon. A sensational win over Beltran will be his ticket for bigger fights and for a possible crack at a world title?, Pe?alosa told this writer. Also helping Farenas is Gerry?s long time friend and benefactor Mr. Kosuke Washio of Japan. The fight will be telecast via TV5 on July 17, 2011.
