BRIAN VERA CHOSEN BY FANS AS BOXER WITH THE MOST CARACTER PhilBoxing.com Sat, 02 Jul 2011 Vera Earns 57% of Text and Online Votes from "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" Viewers Across U.S. New York (July 1, 2011) - Brian Vera not only knocked out San Antonio's Eloy Suarez in the eighth and final round of their "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" bout last Friday, but he also was recognized by fans as the boxer with the most character in the ring. Having received 57 percent of all votes cast by boxing fans across the nation via text message and on Univision.com, the Fort Worth, Texas native is now in the running to receive the "Cintur?n Tecate." "Cintur?n Tecate" (Tecate Belt) is an award created to support the boxers who display the most car?cter in the ring during the "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" broadcast each Friday night on TeleFutura. Tecate recognizes that viewers at home are the best judges and allows them to vote for their favorite boxer of the night by sending a text message to 55333 or visiting Univision.com, Uniclave: Solo Boxeo Tecate. To thank participating fans, each text submitted gives them the opportunity to win boxing memorabilia, such as T-shirts, autographed pictures and even tickets to future "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" fights. The next opportunity to vote will be during the July 8 broadcast of "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" which will feature rising junior welterweight star Jessie Vargas taking on tough veteran Walter Estrada from Buffalo Bill's Star of the Desert Arena in Primm, Nev. During the same broadcast, the boxer who earned the highest percentage of fan votes between April and June will be presented with the second "Cintur?n Tecate" belt of 2011, as well as a donation to a charity of his choice.
