PhilBoxing.com

In the main event of RUMBLE: Independence Day Showdown, undefeated Super Featherweight prospect Roberto ?Calibre? Gonzales delivered another crowd pleasing performance before the people of Agoncillo, Batangas by stopping Former WBO 130 lbs. AsPac Champion Amor Tino thus improving his record to W18(KO10)-L0-D0. Gonzales dominated every round of the fight before ending the night early with a crushing right straight-right hook combination to the right eye of Tino sending him to the canvass in Round 3. Tino failed to beat the count thus prompting referee Ver Abainza to stop the fight.

In the supporting main event, another undefeated Touch Gloves Stable prospect added excitement to the night?s event by delivering another stoppage victory. Undefeated Light Flyweight contender Lolito Sonsona improved his resume to W14 (KO5)- L0 ? D2 when his opponent Marvin Avila retired on his stool after the sixth round due to an eye injury caused by a valid power punch. Sonsona showcased his excellent ring generalship by dictating the tempo of the fight in every round. Sonsona is the younger brother of another rising contender Eden Sonsona and is the first cousin of former champ Marvelous Marvin Sonsona.

In the undercards, Featherweight Van Bantilan of Chad Boxing Stable scored a knock down in round one and dominated the rest of the rounds against Vic Racoma thus getting a UD victory. Touch Gloves Stable?s Jun Doliguez knocked out Mike Tumbaga at 2:20 of round 6 with a wicked double right uppercut. Doliguez?s undefeated record improved to W8(KO5)-L0.
