CHICANITO?S LAST WISH WAS TO BE BURIED WEARING THE WBC BELT AROUND HIS WAIST

The last wish expressed by great champion Genaro Hernandez was to be buried wearing the green and gold WBC belt and his Teiken Team boxer robe, a wish that will be granted by his family and his wife, Liliana, to whom we are sending our deepest condolences.
"Chicanito" will be remembered as one of the great fighters in the Super featherweight division of his era, as he was defeated only twice in 41 professional bouts, and won 17 times by knockout.
The two losses were against Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather jr.
The WBC is very proud, and deeply thanks international promoters, Bob Arum and Akihiko Honda who were always close to "Chicanito", up to the end.
This organization will respectfully and fondly remember the memory of Genaro; May God rest his soul!
