PhilBoxing.com

Atlantic City, NJ -- Before the main event of the semi finals of the Super Six Tournament between Carl Froch and Glen Johnson, the following undercard fights took place at the Boardwalk Hall Arena in Atlantic City, NJ.

The night opened with a scheduled 6 round battle of the light heavyweights in Badou Jack (5-0, 4 KO?s) of Las Vegas, NV and Hajro Sujak (6-1, 4 KO?s) of Bronx, NY. The fighters were trading heavy punches from the opening bell but the stronger Jack landed most of his power punches as the fight progressed. The end came for Sujak in the 1:30 second of the 5th as his corner threw in the towel after witnessing him absorbed punishment from Jack?s punches that found its way to the Bronx born fighter. Jack remained undefeated and improved his record to 6 -0.

Junior welterweight Ivan Redkach (6-0, 5 KO?s) of Los Angeles, CA also remained undefeated as he stopped the shorter Alberto Amaro (6-5, 2 KO?s) of Catalona, Puerto Rico. Amaro was dropped at the 5th round of the fight but was saved by the bell. Redkach finished the fight in the following round as he poured punches on the Puerto Rican. Referee Steve Smoger stopped the fight at the 1: 46 mark of the 6th round after seeing that Amaro cannot defend himself anymore.

In the third fight, J?Leon Love (6-0, 5 KO?s) of Detroit, MI also improved his unbeaten record as he prevailed upon Lamar Harris (6-7-3, 4 KO?s) of St. Louis MO in a UD win in a 4 round middleweight bout. Love dropped Harris in the opening round and followed it up with another knockdown in round number 3. The scores were a complete shutout for Love, 40-35 on all of the three judge?s cards.

Former WBO light heavyweight and WBC cruiserweight champion Zsolt Erdei (32-0,17 KO?s) of Fot, Hungary rounds up the victories of the undefeated in tonight?s card as he scored a 6th round TKO win over Byron Mitchell (28-7-1,21 KO?s) of Dothan, AL. This is Erdei?s second consecutive fight in this venue which was attended by a loud Hungarian crowd who cheered him all throughout this match. Referee Eddie Cotton stopped the fight after Mitchell suffered a second knockdown in the 1:58 mark of the above mentioned round. The Hungarian erupted in celebration after the stoppage and win for Erdei who improved his unbeaten record to 33.

The co-feature fight of the night showcased former hot prospect Edison Miranda ( 33-5, 29 KO?s) of Buenaventura, Colombia who now resides in Miami, FL in his return in the light heavyweight division. He won a UD against Rayco Saunders (20-13, 8 KO?s) of Pittsburgh, PA in a scheduled 8 round match. The win brought him back to the winning column after his knockout loss to Lucian Bute more than a year ago in Montreal, Canada when he challenged him for his super middleweight belt. The judges score it 80-73 and two scores of 79-73.
