PhilBoxing.com

Makati, Philippines ? As Manny Pacman Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire seem to draw attention to the Philippines for holding World Boxing Organization status as super champions for the organization, it has brought many promoters and managers to tie up with the organization bringing tremendous momentum towards the organization in the Philippines with more scheduled regional championship bouts to look forward to.

At the GAB weigh-in today for the vacant WBO Oriental Flyweight title, WBO Asia Pacific Chairman Leon Panoncillo sees the fight as a very good and interesting match-up between punchers, Jecker Buhawe (11win-3loss-7ko) weighed-in at exactly the 112 lb limit while undefeated Edward Penerio (12wins-0loss-8ko) also came in exactly at the same weight for their scheduled fight tomorrow at Angeles City.

American / Filipino promoter Arthur Fable who has lived in Philippines for the past 10 years have been very ecstatic of getting the opportunity to promote his first WBO Regional championship on March 25, 2011 in Angeles City. ?It is my long vision to promote a regional title fights and be a part of WBO's prestigious organization," said Fable.

His prospect Jecker Buhawe who fell short on his last Youth regional match last December 22nd of Last year against the now current WBO Youth World champion Froilan Saludar is out to avenge his loss against the undefeated Edward Penerio.

Dr. Rajan Yraola, Penerio?s manager, who is also the manager of Marvelous Marvin Sonsona said that this will be a very good fight, "This is what?s boxing all about and even though there is a fifty / fifty chance of winning, both Arthur Fable and I are bringing pride to the WBO organization, competing with the best fighters in our country to prove who is the best in our division," Yraola said.

Meanwhile, the hard working Chairman of the WBO Asia Pacific has been very busy lately as he recently just coming off Cebu supervising the ALA promoted fight of AJ Bazooka Banal who had successfully defended his WBO Asia Pacific crown against Francis Miyeyusho of Tanzania this past weekend.

More WBO regional bouts are coming up as other matches are taking shape two such fights are the explosive pairings between Filipino Lorenzo Villanueva vs Ramadhani Shauri of Thailand for the WBO Oriental featherweight title and Jason Pagara vs. Deo Njiku for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Youth 140lb crown. These fights will take place in the undercard of Pinoy Pride 5 headlined by WBO world champion Donnie Nietes scheduled on April 9 in Bacolod City.

Other regional title fights are as follows: April 15th - Dayer Gabutan vs. Pungluang Sor Singyu for the WBO Oriental at Benguet Strawberry Festival; April 16th - Jerwin Ancahas vs. Ronnie Dalut for the WBO Asia Pacific vacant Youth crown in Batangas; Defending WBO Youth world champion Froilan Saludar is gearing up to defend against Jack Amisa at Imus Cavite or at Antique, Philippines on April 29th.

Panoncillo was recently appointed by WBO President Paco Valcarcel as the first Asian / American to supervise the highly anticipated WBO super bout with world renowned superstar Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao and American legion Sugar Shane Mosely at MGM Las Vegas on May 7th. Panoncillo, who have been credited for the success of the Asia Pacific organization, will surely have his hands full in the coming months.
