BOXREC.COM TAKES ISSUE WITH THE GAB PhilBoxing.com Tue, 22 Mar 2011 Dear GAB personalities, Hope you are well. I received a message about GAB's complaints regarding www.boxrec.com . I, Jeremy Lantz, (editor for philippine boxing with www.boxrec.com) do the best i can regarding putting results into boxrec. There are quite a few reasons why boxrec is often incorrect: 1) GAB does not provide results directly to www.boxrec.com . GAB is one of the only nations not to comply for unknown reasons. I haven't had correspondence with GAB Rommel Gutierrez since October 2010 regarding receiving results. Instead of being a man and communicating any issue GAB has with www.boxrec.com . . . GAB insists on simply not responding to various emails and simply relying on false evidences provided by a certain negative writer for insight, or other assumptions which are false. 2)GAB database has many flaws. -Many dates are incorrect for fightcards. -Last minute change of opponent is not listed, instead original opponent shows -Many numerous name misspellings causing 1 boxer to have 2 or 3 profiles -Lack of birth name, birthdate, birthcity within boxer profiles, etc... 3)Due to GAB's inability to cooperate with www.boxrec.com, we have to rely on newspaper or internet articles to patch in results, which is not always 100% accurate information. There is no other option, until this can be corrected through a partnership between GAB & www.boxrec.com --I have always been very cordial and respectful of GAB despite the unprofessionalism which exists between GAB & boxrec.com . I have spent hundreds of hours over the last 10 years assisting the GAB in elevating its persona across the world, by getting philippine boxing results to the best of my abilities. For all of the hours I apply to this .... I take it personally when incorrect information is put into boxrec and go to great lengths to get it correct immediately. --I also have zero private interest in who wins a fight or who the best fighter is, as I am a neutral outside contact with no business interests in obtaining any financial compensation from boxing business. I live in the USA, and have no philippine blood line. For me this is a hobby and a way to give back to the nation that i love, my son has a blood line to the philippines via my x-wife, which initiated my interest back in 1998. I hope that this message is viewed in a positive respectful nature...I pray that the GAB and www.boxrec.com will have an outstanding partnership through the years someday. Regards, Jeremy Lantz www.boxrec.com editor for the philippines ![]() |
