PhilBoxing.com

North Bergen, NJ (October 15, 2010) - Professional boxer Maureen "The Real Million Dollar Baby" Shea currently holds the NABF featherweight belt, but now she has a new title: President of Global Boxing Gym.

The native of The Bronx, New York will oversee operations at the state-of-the-art training facility in the heart of North Bergen, New Jersey. Aside from Shea, other top contenders and rising prospects training at Global include Pawel Wolak, Patrick Majewski, Mikey Perez, Richard Pierson, and Ossie Duran. Global Boxing Gym has also served as the site for many boxing event press conferences.

"I am so grateful to now be a part of the growth and development of Global Boxing," says Shea, who holds a professional boxing record of 15-2 (9 KO). "We have a very positive atmosphere here which provides support in helping maximize each individual's potential, both inside and outside of the ring and cage. Fighters looking for competitive sparring or a conveniently located training camp now have the opportunity to use Global Boxing as their headquarters."

"Having Maureen Shea as president of Global Boxing Gym allows us to obtain a fighter's perspective and input," says Mariusz Kolodziej, founder of Global Boxing. "This is the first state-of-the-art facility in the country to be run by a top female professional boxer. It gives us a unique point of view in the fighting sports."

Global Boxing doesn't just cater to professional athletes, however. People looking to increase their overall fitness level can take part in Muay Thai, kickboxing, grappling, hot yoga and Zumba classes offered at the gym. Children's boxing and wrestling will also take place at the gym.

Personal trainers are also on staff to provide the guidance and motivation needed to reach your goals. "As a professional boxer, I respect the athlete each and every one of us has burning inside," Shea says.

Shea has also enlisted the services of Aroz "Terrific" Gist as the gym's head boxing trainer. Gist has worked with many of the top fighters in the Northeast region, including Shea. In 2008, Gist led Kendall Holt to the WBO junior welterweight championship of the world with a knockout victory of Ricardo Torres. In addition to professionals, Gist will also be guiding the young amateurs in the gym.

Bismark Bruce will assist Gist in his duties. Bruce has worked with Joshua Clottey and Ossie Duran, and was featured on the HBO reality series 24/7.

Shea has also employed the services of of young entrepreneur Ali Mahvan as general manager. Mahvan will implement the policies and practices of the company on the ground floor of the gym.

Global Boxing Gym is located at 5601-5711 Tonnelle Ave, North Bergen, NJ 07047. For more information, call 201-348-3149 or go online at www.globalboxing.com .
