NOW OR NEVER: MICHAEL DOMINGO SHOOTS FOR IBF ELIMINATOR IN SOUTH AFRICA
PhilBoxing.com Tue, 12 Oct 2010

ALA Promotions recently inked a deal with Branco Sports Promotions for ALA Gym mainstay Bantamweight Michael Domingo to fight Vusi Malinga at the latter?s home turf in South Africa.
Domingo (W 40 (KO 18) L 14 (KO 5) D 2), who knocked out Z Gorres tormentor Luis Melendez mid this year was earlier scheduled to fight Indonesian Angky Angkota in Dubai but an offer from the IBF to fight IBF number 9th ranked South African Malinga for the number 1 ranking was too much to pass on.
The Domingo vs Malinga fight is set on October 30, 2010 in South Africa and a win by the Sultan Kudarat, Philippine native will be the closest he will ever get to challenge for a world title. He is currently ranked number 6 in the IBF behind notable names Abner Mares of Mexico (No. 5), Sasha Bakhtine of the Russian Federation (No. 4) and ALA stable mate AJ Banal from the Philippines at number 3.
Vusi ?Marvelous? Malinga (W 19 (KO 12) L 3 (KO 1) D 1), has a very dangerous knock-out percentage of 52.17%. The South African only lost three times in his career and was only stopped in his tracks once by former Bantamweight Champion from Japan Hozumi Hasegawa who happened to have sparred with Michael Domingo during his preparation with his title clash with WBO and WBC Champion Fernando Montiel of Mexico earlier this year.
Michael Domingo is set to leave Cebu City on the 24th of October 2010 and will be joined by ALA Gym Chief Trainer Edito Villamor, Assistant Trainer John Rey Bunao and ALA Promotions Public Relations Head Chad Canares.
