Casimero and Canchila Meet Face to Face

Johnriel Casimero of the Philippines and Cesar Canchila of Colombia were presented before the media in Managua, Nicaragua last December 12. The event was covered by the Spanish website notifight.com and in an article written by Pablo Fletes entitled ?Filipino Casimero llega con sed de triunfo!? , Casimero was quoted as saying ,"I have prepared me a lot for this fight with Canchila. It is the first time that fight out of my country, and I am sure that I am going to win"
Canchila is an excellent fighter, recognized worldwide and has prepared to win. But that it does not matter to me because I have prepared myself so that the fight will not reach the final bell.", he added.
(?Me he preparado mucho para esta pelea con Canchilla. Es la primera vez que peleo fuera de mi pa?s, y estoy seguro que voy a ganar?, dijo Casimero.
?Canchilla es un peleador excelente, reconocido a nivel mundial, se est? preparando muy fuerte para ganar. Pero eso no me importa, porque yo me he preparado para que la pelea no llegue al final?, a?adi?.)
Casimero also acknowledged boxing icon Manny Pacquiao as the inspiration of all Filipino boxers. Casimero left the Philippines last December 9. Promoter Sammy Gello-ani has informed that Team Casimero has started doing workouts in Managua.
In the lates WBO rankings, Casimero (13W-0L, 7 KO's) is ranked number 4 while Canchila (28W ? 2L, 22 KO's) is ranked number 2. Canchila won the WBA interim world title last year with a 12 round unanimous decision win over Giovanni Segura but lost in their rematch by fourth round TKO.
Casimero and Canchila will square off this December 19 for the interim WBO light flyweight title at the Denis Martinez National Stadium in Nicaragua in a fight card dedicated to the memory of the late great Alexis Arguello.
