Park vs Lopez Tomorrow at Ynares Sports Center
PhilBoxing.com Sat, 04 Apr 2009
Korean national champion Jong-Nam Park warned Filipino prospect Sylvester Lopez to make his hands full or else he will take the stretcher out of the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines tomorrow (Sunday, April 5).
Park, the 26-year old Korean national champion, has arrived from Seoul to face the young prodige of Gabriel ?Bebot? Elorde Jr. for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) International super flyweight title in a free-to-public boxfest dubbed ?Bakbakan sa Ynares?.
?I come here to bring home the title not to see your beautiful country,? said Park through interpreter when he paid a courtesy call on Chairman Eric Buhain of the Games and Amusement Board in Makati City yesterday.
Park took the Korean super flyweight title last year and will bring his unblemished 6-0 record with five knockouts.
Lopez, a native of Kabasalan in Zamboanga Sibugay, has 8-2-1 win-loss-draw record with five stoppages in his three-year campaign.
Gov. Casimiro ?Junjun? Ynarez of Rizal, Elorde International Productions and PCSO announced the event will be free to the public on a first come first serve basis.
This Saturday morning, Park and Lopez must tip the scale no more than 115 pounds in the official weigh in at GAB office under Buhain?s supervision.
Rotary Club of Rizal Mideast president Lope ?Jun? Sarreal Jr, who brings the fight at Ynares Sports Center, invites all Rotarians under district 3800 of Gov. Ferdie Fuentes and Gov. Rudy San Felipe to watch the event.
Gerry Penalosa and Malcolm Tunacao were the only Filipinos who took the title.
