RESULTS FROM MANDAUE: TERDSAK OVERPOWERS DE LA CRUZ; YOUNG PROSPECTS SONSONA, MAGBANUA, BELANDRES VICTORIOUS

Mandaue City -- Terdsak Jandaeng of Thailand was crowned as the new WBO Oriental Jr. Lightweight Champion after he defeated local boy Joel de la Cruz by unanimous decision at the Mandaue City Sports & Cultural Center last night. Jandaeng was the more aggressive fighter and connected with heavier punches against De La Cruz. De La Cruz was knocked down in the second and third rounds but somehow recovered to survived to finish the contest on his feet. After their bout, Jandaeng praised De La Cruz and said that "Joel is a good fighter and he will become a great boxer someday."

-- Rolando Magbanua won by 3rd round TKO over Thiti Sithkosol
-- Marvin Sonsona won by 4th KO over Richard Picardal.
-- Eric Canoy won by a unanimous decision over Abner Llanasa
-- Rey Labao won by a spit decision over Lenardo Doronio
-- Reynaldo Balandres won by a unanimous decision over Ronnil Suco
-- Jerry Pahal won by a 1st round TKO over Ramano Gelig
-- Rolando Magallano won by a unanimous decision over Sebusa Gonzalo
