Pacquiao vs. Barrios: Weigh-in Results and Fight Analysis

PhilBoxing.com

LAS VEGAS, USA — The big day is here! The excitement is to the roof in Vegas.

The weigh-in was a success as Manny Pacquiao and Mario Barrios are officially all set to battle for Barrios' WBC welterweight world title belt at the MGM Grand Garden Arena tomorrow night.

Pacquiao weighed in at 146.8 pounds, while Barrios came in at 146.2 pounds.

Both men looked fantastic, but Pacquiao stole the show at the MGM Grand during the weigh-in, receiving the loudest cheers by far.

The crowd's energy was palpable, with “Pitbull” Cruz being the second favorite, and Aussie Tim Tszyu third. I did not hear that much for “El Azteca” Barrios.

So what to expect tomorrow?

Fireworks! Why? Kasi Pacquiao needs a big win after his loss in politics. Diba?

He's motivated and hungry for victory. Despite his age and four-year hiatus, Pacquiao remains optimistic, saying, "I'm back, I'm excited for the fight, and I'm really hungry to win again."

Barrios, on the other hand, is in his prime at 30-years-old and boasts the WBC world title belt.

However, to me, this Mexican Barrios is not as awesome, popular, talented and devastating as “El Terrible” Morales, “Dinamita” Marquez, Barrera, Miguel Cotto, De La Hoya, Margarito and many other fearsome warriors that our champ has defeated.

Barrios is not in that class. No way.

That’s why, to me, Pacquiao's experience and skills will be the key to his victory. Plus this:

- Experience: Pacquiao's vast experience in big fights, including more than a dozen headlining events at the MGM Grand, gives him an edge.

- Footwork: Pacquiao's quick footwork and unpredictable moves will help him evade Barrios' attacks.

- Counterpunching: Pacquiao's counterpunching skills, which Ricky Hatton can attest to, will allow him to capitalize on Barrios' aggression.

How about Pacquiao’s last fight?

Regarding Pacquiao's last fight against Yordenis Ugas in 2021, it's true that he lost.

However, his astonishing résumé and ability to do the impossible make him a strong contender against Barrios.

Yes, the betting odds are slightly in Barrios' favor, but Pacquiao has been in tougher spots before, like against De La Hoya.

As Pacquiao himself said, "I'm always bringing surprises."

Let’s get ready for an exciting fight, Pacquiao wanting to be called world champion again, while Barrios wanting to remain king.

I think Pacquiao can win. Let's support our national sports hero, hoping for the best! Let's go, Pacman! 🇵🇭👍🥊
