PACQUIAO VS. BARRIOS UNDERCARD MEDIA WORKOUT QUOTES

PhilBoxing.com

LAS VEGAS – July 16, 2025 – Fighters competing on Saturday’s jam-packed PBC event showed off their skills at a media workout on Wednesday before they step into the ring on July 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in a loaded card headlined by the showdown between boxing Hall of Famer Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and WBC Welterweight World Champion Mario “El Azteca” Barrios.

The workout featured WBC Super Welterweight World Champion Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora and Australia superstar Tim Tszyu, who will meet in the co-main event of a stacked PBC PayPer-View event on Prime Video.

Also competing in pay-per-view action and working out on Wednesday were Mexican rivals Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz and Angel Fierro, who meet in a 12-round rematch, plus former two-division champion Brandon “The Heartbreaker” Figueroa and featherweight contender Joet Gonzalez, who kick off the pay-per-view with a WBA Featherweight Title Eliminator at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

The workout also included fighters competing on the three-fight PBC on Prime Video lineup that precedes the pay-per-view. Stepping into the ring Wednesday were former world champion Gary
Russell Jr., who takes on Hugo Castañeda in the 10-round main event, unbeaten super bantamweight contender David “Rey” Picasso, who faces Japanese contender Kyonosuke Kameda, and former world champion Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo, who battles Jorge Mata in the opening attraction at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT.

In addition to being available for purchase on Prime Video, regardless of Prime membership, fans will also be able to continue to access the telecast through traditional cable and satellite outlets as well as PPV.com.

Tickets for the live event are on sale now through AXS.com.

Here is what the fighters had to say Wednesday from MGM Grand:

SEBASTIAN FUNDORA
“It’s real competitive in the gym with me and my sister. We feed off each other. It’s a family affair in this sport.

“It doesn’t matter what happened in the first fight, because we have the second fight coming up. Tune in Saturday, because it’s gonna be another great war.”

TIM TSZYU
“It’s been much better preparation for Fundora this time. I want that green belt and I want to give this fight to the fans.

“It’s tunnel-vision right now. I can’t wait for the bell to ring. I’m bringing that belt back home!”

ISAAC CRUZ
“It’s just about taking it round by round and winning each one convincingly. We’re going to give a great show to the fans out here.

“There is nothing better than representing Mexico. I was the first Mexican signed to Manny Pacquiao Promotions and it’s an honor to be on his undercard.”

ANGEL FIERRO
“I believe that I hurt ‘Pitbull’ in the third round and again later in the fight. It wasn’t enough, but this time I’m going to leave no doubt and come out on top.

“Working with Robert Garcia has been incredible. It’s elite level training. I’m sharper than ever and I’m boxing better than ever. You’re going to see on Saturday night.”

BRANDON FIGUEROA
“Me and Manny Robles have been working on a lot of things and I can’t wait to show off my skills on Saturday night. I have to go make a statement.

“I have to prove that I’m the best. It’s gonna be the old version of Brandon. I’m gonna come forward, throw body punches and give the fans what they deserve.

JOET GONZALEZ
“Training camp was excellent and I’m feeling great right now. It’s a blessing and a great opportunity to be in this position. It’s a stacked card from top to bottom.

“I just have to be better than him in every aspect of the ring. I have to beat him to everything and that’s my plan on Saturday night.”

GARY RUSSELL JR.
“For the last three-and-a-half years I’ve been focused on my family and training my younger brothers. I’ve been doing everything for everyone else and now I have time to do something for myself. I can’t wait to get back in there.

DAVID PICASSO
“I’m so excited and happy to be here. This is the biggest fight of my life and I know that when I step into the ring, I’m gonna leave it warm for Manny Pacquiao. The fans are going to love it.

“I fight every single fight like it’s a world title bout. I’m going to win, you’re going to love it and then we’re gonna fight for the world championship.”

MARK MAGSAYO
“I’m so excited and happy for Saturday night. I’m gonna showcase my talent and show the world that I’m one of the best fighters in the sport.”
