Cabalquinto Set to Face Australian Balla on Maniatis Card
PhilBoxing.com Thu, 12 Jun 2025

Former Philippines IBF Asia and WBC Asia Champion Adones Cabalquinto is confirmed to fight former Australian and WBA Oceania Champion Qamil Balla on a Peter Maniatis Events card in Melbourne, as announced by Australia Hall of Fame promoter Peter Maniatis.
During today's official weighin, Cabalquinto stepped the scales at 70.90kg while Balla came in at 69.85kg.
The bout will serve as the co-main event, preceding the clash between David Padovan and Sebastian Singh for a vacant WBC Australasia Title.
Qamil Balla is trained by his father, Nuri, and hails from a talented boxing family, with his brother Ibrahim also a professional boxer seeking international bouts under manager Pierre Karam.
Promoter Peter Maniatis recalled his initial impression of Cabalquinto: “I was in Baguio when Freddie Roach was training Senator Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan in the same training camp, and Adones Cabalquinto was there as a sparring partner for Amir Khan. I was impressed with Adones; he was competitive in his sparring with Amir Khan".
Maniatis expressed confidence in the upcoming match, stating, "Both Adones and Balla are good boxers; this will be a good action bout".
The fight will be streamed live from 5 PM Manila time on https://kombatants.com/. Maniatis also extended thanks to Peter Sinadinos' Big Fat Greek Restaurant in Sydney and Glen Aristis from Kombatants.
