Sarcon, Into Stay Unbeaten By Teodoro Medina Reynoso PhilBoxing.com Sun, 24 Mar 2024 Sarcon (R) drops Huang in this bit of action during their fight last night in Manila. Promising new gen Filipino fighters Lienard Sarcon and Jerald Into kept their undefeated slates with Into raising his knockout record following wins over their respective foes in the 'Home Coming" fight card at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila last night. The fight card jointly promoted by Brendan Gibbons (Viva), Jean Claude Manangquil and Manny Pacquiao of MP Promotions saw Paris Olympics bound Eumir Felix Marcial notching his fifth pro win via 4th round knockout over Thai veteran Thoedsak Sinam. Sarcon scored two knockdowns against his Chinese foe Peng Huang in the very first round but had to settle for a unanimous 8 round decision not risking an injury or accident versus the taller Huang who fought awkwardly from the get go throwing overhand rights and sweeping left hooks. It was not the type of a fight that Sarcon could show the wares he exhibited against Korea's then unbeaten featherweight Jong Seon Kang in Seoul and American Frank Gonzales in the USA both of which he won by unanimous decision. Sarcon however swept the scorecards of the judges with Don Arguelles had it 80-70, Carlo Baluyut 77-73 and Gil Co 78-72 against Peng who had 4 knockouts in his 7 previous wins. Sarcon registered his 11th win with 4 KOs. Meanwhile Into scored a second round stoppage over veteran internationalist Jhon Gemino after downing Gemino three times in the round. Into started aggressively, taking the fight to Gemino from the opening bell and trying to connect with powerful punches. Gemino survived the round. But the next round saw Into having more success as Gemino fought back opening him up to Into's powerful combinations that resulted to the successive knockdowns which convinced Referee Danrex Tapdasan to stop the bout and declare Into winner via TKO. It was Into's 10th win, eight coming by KO or TKO. Aside from Gemino, he has defeated by KO or TKO Pepito Masangkay, Leonardo Doronio, Monico Laurente and Eduardo Mancito. He has also beaten Vietnam's top lightweight Nguyen Van Bai by decision. With these impressive performances, expect the two to topbill more fights under MP Promotion in the future.
