WNM Suyamin ready, confident in the upcoming 21st ASEAN+ Age Group Chess Championships 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand

MANILA---Woman National Master Bonjoure Fille Suyamin expressed readiness and confidence that she will have better results in the upcoming 21st ASEAN+ Age Group Chess Championships 2023 to be held on June 17 to 27 in Bangkok, Thailand.
“It’s a prestigious tournament kaya medyo excited ako. I’ll do my best to win and bring honors to our country," said the pride of General Trias City, Cavite, whose stint is being supported by Mayor Jon Jon Ferrer, Mr. Arnel Beltran Del Rosario of Del Rosario Christian Institute and Coach Ederwin Estavillo.
The 13-year-old Suyamin, a Grade 7 student of Del Rosario Christian Institute is expected to lead the Philippine chess team in the World Youth Chess Championships to be held on November 12 to 25 in Montesilvano, Italy.
Suyamin is fresh from winning the girls’ Under-15 division of the Mayor Seth Frederick "Bullet" P. Jalosjos National Youth and Schools Chess Championships Grand Finals (Standard Time Control) in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte last June 8.
Suyamin collected 9.5 points in eleven rounds to rule the FIDE standard event organized by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.
Suyamin scored victories over Kaye Lalaine Regidor in the first round, Ryien Bahita in the second round, Maryss Annxeniel Caldoza in the third round, Lyn Getubig in the fourth round, LJ Getubig in the fifth round, Hannah Jillian Luminario in the sixth round, Kristel Love Nietes in the seventh round and Jirah Floravie Cutiyog in the eleventh and final round.
She drew with Ruelle Canino in the eight round, Daren Dela Cruz in the ninth round and Maria Kristine Lavandero in the tenth and penultimate round.-Marlon Bernardino-
