ANGKLAHAN SA DASMARINAS CITY 1: Ryan Racaza Leads JMS Maiden Promotion By Teodoro Medina Reynoso PhilBoxing.com Sat, 27 Aug 2022 Rising lightweight sensation Ryan Racaza leads two other JMS Anchor promising undefeated wards as they attempt to punch the new boxing promotion's mark in local boxing as they spearhead JMS Anchor Promotions initial fight production in Dasmarinas City this Sunday, August 28. Dubbed Angklahan sa Dasmarinas I, JMS Anchor's first sally into local professional boxing will feature undefeated KO artist Racaza (12-0, 8KOs) trying to extend his winning streak in the scheduled 8 round bout at super lightweight against veteran gatekeeper Jimmy Borbon (7-11-4, 4 KOs) in the main event. In the co main event, guest boxer JR Magboo (18-6-2, 9KOs) of Mindoro will go up against a Malaysian visitor Aiman Abu Bakar (9-1, 4 KOs) in another 8 round bout at super featherweight that will provide international flavor to the event. Two other JMS ace wards namely Rey Dogelio (2-0-0) and Jerson Arigolo (2-0-0) clash against Nestor Junio (1-16-2) of Camp Sales and Junjun Rimasog (0-9-2) of Muntinlupa City in a pair of four rounders at super featherweight and bantamweight, respectively. On paper, it will appear that Racaza would easily overwhelm Borbon and stretch his winning and knockout streak but the record of Borbon is quite deceiving. Borbon has fought professionally since 2016 and has gone far and wide even having fought in Japan and India going up against then dreaded world super featherweight champion Takeshi Miura and popular and currently still unbeaten Rajesh Kumar. Hence, Racuza is not taking this fight lightly. The same caution should also be taken by the Malay visitor Abu Bakar as Magboo ring record could also be deceiving as he is a known spoiler with knacks for pulling off upsets when least expected. The event will start at around 1 pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the JMS Boxing and Biagtan MuayThai Gym, Raquettaz Badminton Center, Don Placido Campos, San Agustin 2 Dasmarinas City, Cavite Philippines. It will be free to the public though AITF pandemic protocols would be strictly enforced. Opening the event would be a bevy of amateur boxing and MMA bouts featuring aspiring guest fighters from various parts of the country. JMS stands for the first names of primary licensed promoter Joel Paciones and associates former FilAm world champion now US based boxing manager-trainer Morris East and his lawyer-cousin Atty Steve Santillan and Anchor represents the Merchant Marine profession of Paciones. JMS had planned originally to also feature world ranked flyweight Christian Bacolod who with Racaza form the outfit's 1-2 punch in the Dasmarinas maiden run but the once beaten Bacolod was invited to fight in the main event of a boxing promotion in Sibonga, Cebu last August 7, 2022 against April Jay Abne. Bacolod lost by disputed unanimous decision to the adopted local boy despite forcing the fight from the opening bell and having Abne almost out of his feet by the last round. JMS is placing the result of that fight under protest. The author Teodoro Medina Reynoso is a veteran boxing radio talk show host living in the Philippines.
