Batay sa kanyang nasaksihan sa tatlong araw niyang pagbisita sa Hanoi noong nakaraang linggo, tiniyak ni Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino na maidaraos ang 31st Southeast Asian Games ng walang sagabal sa orihinal nitong iskedyul sa Mayo 12 hanggang 23 sa pangunahing Lunsod na ito ng Vietnam.

Napag-alaman din ni Tolentino na ang Malaysia, isa sa mga makakalaban ng mga Pilipino para maipagtanggol ang pakalahatang kamponato, ay kakatawan ng hindi kukulangin sa 800 athleta, 656 na kakatawan sa nagtatanggol na kampeon.

Wala pa siyang impormasyon, ani Tolentino, kung ilan ang ipadadala ng mga malalakas ding delegasyon ng Thailand at Indonesia.

“Hindi pa natin alam,” bagamat sinabi niyabng may kumpiyansa siyang ang Pilipin as ay handang lumaban para mapanatili sa dalampasigang ito ang pangkalahatang kempeonato.
