“EJ Obiena is not in the national training pool list. He has said he will ask help from others. Let’s see what works,” pahayag ni Doc Popoy Juico noong Martes sa online Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum.

“Most of those who medaled with the gold and silver are still around and most of them are in shape," paliwanag ni Juico na ang tukoy ay ang mga gintong nahukay nina Clinton Bautista (110m hurdles), javelin thrower Melvin Calano, decathlete Aries Toledo, heptathlete Sarah Dequinan at marathoner Christine Hallasgo.

Lahat sila, dagdagf ni PATAFA president, “have been neck deep in training for the Vietnam meet.”

“We also have several new athletes. I don’t know what other countries have in store for us, but we know what we have in store for them," dagdag ni Juico.

Mistulang ininsulto rin ni Doc ang tinagurian niyang ‘other people’ na nangakong tutulong kay Obiena sa kawalan nito ng indorso mula PATAFA. ‘Let’s see what works.’
