WBO Oriental a Big Hit in Melbourne

The WBO Oriental is indeed making its mark as a regional title to reckon with.
In a long distance phone conversation with Fil-Am WBO Asia Pacific Vice President Leon Panoncillo, who has guided many Asian and Pacific fighters to opportunities, the boxing executive informed that Australia is on its way to producing more WBO Regional champions.
Just recently hot prospect Lance Gostelow of Melbourne, Australia scored a convincing unanimous decision over Indonesian tough as nails Tia Koswara in a 12-round clash for the vacant WBO Oriental Jr. welterweight title.
Scores were as follows: Wayne Ashdown 120-108, Henry Nisses 119-111, Con Theodorou 118-110 all for the new champion Lance Gostelow. Gostelow showed a lot of ring savy and smarts to out-box his game opponent through-out the bout.
