CHESS: Relentless Racasa

PhilBoxing.com

Fresh from her masterful performance at Pasig City Association of Private School Administrators (PAPRISA) last month, country's youngest Woman Fide Master (WFM) Antonella Berthe Murillo Racasa essayed another unstoppable show of force by sweeping all her opponents.

She bested Crisha Faye Pesodas, Jannel Cepriaso and Krisna Louise Jose in a double round robin elimination for the Pasig Division meet held at Sacred Heart Academy of Pasig. Her back to back 6-0 output propelled her to advance next to the National Capital Region (NCR) Palaro where she will be facing tough opposition.

Her campaign locally and internationally were supported by D. Edgard A. Cabangon of ALC group of companies, Honorable Mayor Menchie Abalos and Councilor Charisse Abalos- Vargas of Mandaluyong City, Engr. Rogelio SP Lim, President ng RSP Lim Construction Co Inc. Owner at developer ng Boni Tower, Immediate Past President of Makati Med Mam Rose Montenegro and Mam Jean Altobano of Multi-Modal Security and Investigation Agency Inc.
Racasa, a grade 6 pupil of VCIS - Home School Global said her main mission next to perform well in the Eastern Asia Juniors and Girls Chess Championships to be held on December 10 to 16 at the First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities College in Tanauan, Batangas.

"I hope to perform well in the upcoming Eastern Asia Juniors and Girls Chess Championships in Tanauan, Batangas," said Racasa.
The tournament is organized by Saturnino Belen Jr. of Active Chess Center for Asia under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation and FIDE, and the National Chess Federation of the Philippines in cooperation with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and is backed up by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Lima Park Hotel in Malvar, Batangas as the official hotel of the players.

“Holding the Eastern Asia Juniors and Girls Chess Championships in the Philippines will give more opportunities for our talented juniors and girls to earn international chess titles,” Belen said.

International Master (IM) Daniel Quizon and Woman International Master (WIM) Kylen Joy Mordido will defend their titles.
Quizon earned his International Master title and a GM norm in last year’s Eastern Asia Juniors Chess Championship in Gangneung, South Korea.

Mordido earned her Woman International Master title and a Woman GM norm after winning the girls division in the same tournament.
Expected to participate in Malvar are juniors and girls under-20 players from Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and host Philippines. The tournament will be a 9-round Swiss System.
For registration inquiries and fee to join this international event, interested players may call Chief Organizer Ricky Navalta at 0917-329-1150 and 0920-923-1150.-Marlon Bernardino-
