Cuerdo loses by KO in Japan

DAVAO CITY ? Southpaw Philip Luis ?Destroyer? Cuerdo of the Philippines lost by a knockout in the 1st round by unbeaten Junto Nakatani of Japan last June 1 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. It was the 7th loss suffered by Cuerdo and the 6th via knockout. Cuerdo had 11 victories and a draw.
The 21-year old Nakatani posted his 19th victory and 14th via knockout.
Nakatani earlier TKO?d Naoki Mochizuki in the 9th round last Feb. 2, 2019 to win the vacant Japanese flyweight title.
The promoter is Akihiko Honda of Teiken Promotions. (Lito delos Reyes)
