United Boxing Promotions signs 3-time Canadian National Champion Lucas PhilBoxing.com Fri, 24 May 2019 PRO DEBUT SATURDAY NIGHT IN MEXICO CITY MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Canada - (May 24, 2019) - United Boxing Promotions (UBP) has announced its signing of three-time Canadian National amateur champion Lucas "Prince" Bahdi to an exclusive promotional contract. "Lucas is Niagara Falls' most decorated amateur fighter since the days of Mike Strange and Billy Irwin," UBP president Tyler Buxton commented, "I'm excited to welcome him to the United Boxing Promotions Team. "Lucas joins the pro ranks at a very exciting time with the opportunity to box in Brampton at the CAA Centre, but also to put Niagara Falls on the map as a boxing destination." "We have a track record of bringing amateur fighters through the pro ranks to world title fights and we expect nothing less than Lucas bringing a world title fight home to Niagara Falls." United consistently provided Ontario-based fighters, some my friends, with top-notch venues and fights in which they started and then advanced their boxing careers while staying at home in Canada. It excites me that I can stay at home with my family, and train to make my dream of winning a world title." The 25-year-old Bahdi started boxing relatively late at the age of 14. He rapidly made up for lost time, enjoying great success at the highest level of national and International amateur boxing. His impressive resume includes gold-medal performances at the 2018 (Outstanding Boxer), 2016 and 2015 (Outstanding Boxer) Canadian Senior National Championships; and the 2018 (Outstanding Boxer), 2015, 2014 and 2013 Ontario Provincial Championships. The lightweight pro prospct also won 14 International amateur competitions, in addition to being selected Outstanding Boxer at the 2017 Canada vs. Brazil dual competition, he captured a bonze medal at the prestigious Ringside World Amateur Championships in 2017, and was named the 2014 Onrario Athlete of the Year. I have the right promoter, right management and skill-set necessary to be the world's best. I live for the fight!"
