ENE-PURCELL VS NASIO II: Opportunity knocks

PhilBoxing.com

WILL NASIO vs HERMAN ENE-PURCELL - OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS

IT'S A MATTER OF WHO LANDS FIRST - that's how DDP Sports Management's Head Of Boxing Operations Steve Wijangco describes the re-match between Herman Ene-Purcell and Will Nasio.

"This being Will?s first fight under DDP, could not be a better match," Wijangco said.

"Anyone that saw their first outing, are guaranteed a closer and tougher fight, given both boys have matured and got a few more rounds under the belt since they first met and I?m sure all of Toowoomba will agree, when I say, I can?t see it going the distance and both boys have power to end the fight at will.

"It is a matter of who will land that punch first.

"I'm excited to see Will Nasio 2.0 under new guidance of trainer Chris Carden and the Platinum Boxing Gym."

Fight one had everything - an amazing atmosphere created by the loud Tongan supporters of Nasio and the equally vocal Samoan support team of Herman Ene-Purcell, several big hits, three knock downs and plenty of theatre.

"It's very hard to describe the atmosphere in that arena when these two warriors went toe to toe last time," TGW & Smithy's Promotions Promoter Brendon Smith said.

"The photos, the videos simply don't do it justice and I'm sure anyone there that night would agree.

"Now that we're doing it again I can only imagine the atmosphere will go to a new level.

"This is a bout where I'm sure the hype will be equal to the contest.

"There will be no shortage of passion and emotion and of equal significance two fighters who are World class."

The expectation around this fight is massive, it's very much a cross roads moment for both men.

Ene-Purcell is burning for redemption and the opportunity to take a major step in his career.

For Nasio it's about respect, proving fight one was no fluke, but of more importance it's a bout he needs to win to progress his career to the next level.

With a new team around him, Nasio believes his time is now - so does his team at DDP Promotions. A loss to Ene-Purcell will instantly change the next step of his career.

The re-match has added significance with the ANBF sanctioning it for the Australasian title.

?July 13 is going to reveal a lot about both of us,? Nasio said.

?It will reveal a lot about our preparation, I know he will come out firing and we?ve been working on my mistakes and the things I did wrong in the first fight.

?We?re both pretty confident and may the best man win"

Ene-Purcell added: "I'm under no illusions how big a fight this is, that's why we're working as hard as possible to be at my best on July 13.

"Boxing is about how you meet challenges, this is a big challenge but one I'm hungry for.

"It's no secret I feel the better man wasn't the winner in fight one, I have an opportunity to prove that come July 13."
