LOS ANGELES -- Boxing's eight division world champion and Philippine senator Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao arrived here Tuesday evening (Wednesday in Manila) ahead of his scheduled press conference together with undefeated WBA super welterweight champion Keith Thurman (29-0-0, 22KOs) at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Blvd Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Pacquiao and Thurman had the first stop of their media tour in New York Tuesday noon.
Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39KOs), the current WBA regular welterweight champion, and Thurman, will unify their WBA belts in the summer's blockbuster bout on July 20 to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and televised on Fox Pay Per View.
Pacquiao, 40, a future first ballot Hall of Famer, has now been fighting for more than 24 years and by fighting Thurman who is one of the best welterweights on the planet, aims to demonstrate he still belongs to the very top boxers in the highly demanding sport.
